Adding Style and Security to a Cleveland Parking Garage
McNICHOLS® Designer Mesh and Perforated Metal form eye-catching security structures for Cleveland State University parking garage.

The Hole Objective
Planners wanted Cleveland State University’s parking garage to stand out on its busy corner, yet remain safe for students. The challenge was finding a product that provided both the beauty and security they desired.

The Hole Solution
McNICHOLS® Techna 3155 Wire Mesh was chosen because its double-weave pattern had the strength and desired open area for security and visibility, but also had a high-end visual appeal fitting for the first floor of the parking garage. For the upper levels, planners chose McNICHOLS® Perforated Metal with a slotted configuration. On one side of the garage, panels were set on an angle from the building. At the top floor of the garage, the Slotted Perforated panels form a sunshade, providing shade while students wait for the garage elevators. In keeping with the University’s emblem, not to mention boldly identifying the garage for miles, panels along one side were powder coated green to match the school’s colors.
