Q: Why should I set up an account on

A: You will enjoy a more customized shopping experience by setting up an account. As a registered user, you can view your inquiry status and order history, create and save to project lists, and manage your account information. You will also be the first to know about new features as we add them to our site in the future.

Q: How do I set up an account at

A: To set up an account, simply click "Log In" on the header menu at the top of each page. If you or your company is already registered as a customer with McNICHOLS, you can get started using the account number and zip code associated with your account.

Q: Which internet browsers can I use to access

A: For optimal use of, we strongly suggest Google Chrome. Other supported browsers include Internet Explorer version 10 or higher, Firefox, and Safari.

Q: How can I edit my login information?

A: After logging in, click the welcome salutation (located at the top of the page near the shopping cart icon), and select "Profile" from the dropdown menu or "My Account" page. From there you can update your name, email, password, security questions, phone number, and industry information.


Q: If I am interested in more than one product, how many products can I compare at once?

A: You can compare up to four products at once in some product lines. The Compare Items feature highlights similarities and differences between items in an easy-to-use format to assist you with your Hole Product selections.

Q: Can I edit my quote once it has been submitted?

Q: Which orders are displayed under Order History on the website?

A: All orders placed with McNICHOLS will display on the Order History page along with relevant information. Invoices are viewable in PDF format once they become available. Custom (non-stock) orders will not display on our site. However, we are happy to supply you with information related to any orders placed with McNICHOLS. Our Customer Support page highlights different ways we are available to assist you.

Q: Will my quote requests appear in my Order History?

A: Quote requests will appear once they have been converted to an order.

Q: Can I store/save products I am interested in and access them in the future?

A: Yes, you may do so using our "Project List" feature. This allows you to create lists containing specific products which you can name and save for later use. To utilize this feature, please log in and click the welcome salutation (located at the top of the page near the shopping cart icon), then select "Project List" from the dropdown menu or on the "My Account" page.

Online Ordering

Q: How long will it take for my online order to ship?

A: In-stock items ship in one to two business days via UPS Ground. Delivery time may vary depending on your location. If you need your order expedited, we are happy to assist you!

Q: Which states are eligible for my online order ship to?

A: McNICHOLS online orders ship to physical addresses within the Contiguous United States (lower 48 states). Please note that this does not include PO boxes. If you process your order as a quote, a Customer Service Specialist will assist you with alternate shipping locations and methods.

Q: What is the maximum shipping weight allowed for online orders?

A: Online orders weighing 60 lbs. or less ship via UPS. If your order exceeds this weight limit, a McNICHOLS® Customer Service Specialist can assist you with other shipping alternatives.

Q: Can I pick up my online order at one of McNICHOLS® Metals Service Center locations?

A: Orders purchased online are delivery-only at this time. Q: Are there any quantity limits for orders I place directly online?

A: For online ordering, quantity limits may exist for select items due to size and weight requirements by UPS. Quantity limits may vary by product type. Each product detail page has additional information. If you would like a quote for larger quantities, a McNICHOLS associate will assist you. There are no quantity limits when requesting a quote for McNICHOLS® Hole Products.

Q: Why are only select sizes available for purchase online?

A: McNICHOLS is excited to offer online ordering for select products and sizes, ideal for smaller applications. A product specialist is ready to provide you with a quote if your project requires larger sizes or quantities. Our expansive product inventory of full size sheets, planks, and panels is sure to meet your important design requirements!

Q: Why am I being asked to request a quote, I thought I could order online?

A: If you have multiple items in your shopping cart and one or more of your selections requires additional information, your online order will be transitioned to a quote request. From there, a dedicated Customer Service Specialist will promptly help you finalize your order.

Q: What payment methods are available for online orders?

A: We accept American Express, Discover, Mastercard and Visa cards. If you have a McNICHOLS account with established open terms, you may also place an order by using a PO number. Additional payment methods are available when you request a quote.

Q: How do I change or cancel my online order?

Account Management & Stored Information

Q: Can I change my contact email address on the website?

A: Yes, and please note that changing a contact email address also changes the User Login ID. To change your email address, please log in and click the welcome salutation (located at the top of the page near the shopping cart icon), then select "Profile" from the dropdown menu or at the top of the "My Account" page. You may enter your new email address on this page.

Q: Can I call or email McNICHOLS to request an update to my contact email address?

A: Yes, however, if you change the email address associated with your McNICHOLS web account via phone or email, you will still need to manually change the email address associated with your online profile. We are happy to assist you with this process.

Q: Will my tax-exempt status carry over to my online account?

A: Yes! Customers who have a valid tax-exempt form on file with McNICHOLS will be tax exempt when using their online account.

Q: How do I apply for "Credit/On Account Terms" (a line of credit specific to McNICHOLS) at

User Management

Q: How many administrators can I have on my account?

A: Customers may have an unlimited number of administrators on each account. You make that determination and can change administrator information at any time.

Q: How many shoppers can I have on my account?

A: Customers may have an unlimited number of shoppers on their account.

Q: Which online permissions are only available to account administrators?

A: An administrator has the ability to:

  • Make account address updates
  • Add or edit shopper profiles and create additional administrators
  • Import users via the supplied template
  • Deactivate a user's account
Q: Can I deactivate a user's account on my account?

A: An account administrator can deactivate another administrator or a shopper's account, and as a result that user's email address will be deactivated. However, the deactivated user can use a different email address to reregister as a shopper on your account. In this case, the account administrator(s) will be notified via email when a user self-registers.

Q: How do I reset my password?

A: To reset your password, please follow these steps:

  • Click Log In
  • Select the "Forgot your password?" link on the McNICHOLS Account Login or Registration page

  • Answer your password security question
