Glass Town Home Makes use of Perforated Sunshades
Modern town home in Arizona selects McNICHOLS® Perforated Metal to provide shade and privacy to tenants.
| 1 min read
McNICHOLS® Perforated Metal was selected for this town home project in Old Scottsdale for a variety of reasons. One primary consideration was to help shade the intense Arizona sunlight from the high glass balcony windows, as well as provide privacy to the occupants of the five 1,550 square foot units. The sunscreens also helped diffuse heat away from the building's face – a feature that helps protect the interior from Arizona's extreme temperatures and, therefore, conserves energy. The Perforated panel choice also offered a host of other attributes such as aesthetics, security and low maintenance. Having a high recycled content, the metal partitions and their energy-saving properties helped garner LEEDs points for the project. The project earned a certification from Scottsdale's Green Building Program.
