There are many breweries in the boroughs of Allegheny County, one of which was Fort Pitt Brewery, located in Sharpsburg. This particular brewery is one of a group of Maryland breweries that date back to 1906. The owner of the brewery wanted to add a unique and iconic sign above an entrance door that would have the street number mounted to it. He wanted handsome metalwork that resembled a beer keg with fluid going into it. McNICHOLS® Designer Mesh TECHNA™ and SHIRE™ were the two patterns the owner decided to go with. TECHNA™ was used for upright and integral circular panels, while SHIRE™ made up the top and bottom panels. Angle and Flat Bar secured and framed the panels, bringing the design together. The resulting structure complemented the original building aesthetics quite well.
