How Covered Fiberglass Grating Is Made?
Covered Grating is a fiberglass reinforced molded composite of polyester or vinyl ester resin with a 1/8 inch deep molded in grit surface plate attached. The picture to the right is what the SafPlate Flooring cover goes on top of. Covered Grating is manufactured in a molded, one piece construction process by interlacing pre-wetted glass reinforcing strands in a liquid resin matrix within a given configuration. Once the resin has cured, the molded grid is removed from the mold. The one piece construction ensures that all glass is impregnated with resin.
