Home - Products - Grating - Bar Castable Grating - Gridsteel TM GridsteelTM is primarily used as a castable lining reinforcement structure for vessels, refractory applications, buildings or concrete flooring. Gridsteel prevents slump, corrosion, cracking, blistering, and therefore lengthens the life of the supported structure. Gridsteel is liken to the skeletal system in the human body. Without bones, the human body would have no support. Likewise, a vessel without Gridsteel would collapse. GridsteelTM is offered in plain steel, galvanized, stainless 304 or 410. Please inquire for special alloys or materials. Gauges are offered in 12 (for heavy duty applications) or 14 (for medium duty applications). The degree at which GridsteelTM can be bent depends on the clinch type (tight or loose). In applications where there is a high degree of curvature, such as in a small vessel, a loose clinch is more appropriate. The standard tight clinch is more appropriate for applications with less curvature, such as in a large vessel. For concrete flooring applications, the clinch type is less relevant. The slots in the GridsteelTM bars allow concrete or other reinforcing compounds to seep through. The slots can be made with or without lances (the excess burrs caused by the slot punching process).
