Gauge or Thickness
McNichols Product Line of Grating includes six Product Types - Plank, Bar, Expanded, Riveted, Fiberglass Molded, and Fiberglass Pultruded. These products are panel, plank or sheet items designed to be load bearing over a clear span.
Molded Fiberglass Grating is available in square or rectangular grid configurations. This characteristic identifies the height of the grid. Grid Height may also be termed Grid Thickness.
This characteristic identifies the shape of the grid in Fiberglass Molded Grating.
Fiberglass Molded Grating is available in square and rectangular grid patterns. This characteristic identifies the size of the grid pattern.
An adaptation of regular expanded metal. It features teethlike projections that provide an anti-slip surface when used in platforms or ramps.
The application of a slip-resistant grit to the walking surface of Pultruded Fiberglass grating can be accomplished in several different ways. The most common ones are "integral", in which the grit is embedded in the surface during the curing process, and "applied", in which the grit is applied to the top surface after curing, embedded in a resin coating.
Molded and Pultruded Fiberglass Grating is available with a grit surface that is slip resistant. This characteristic identifies the color of the grit surface.
On some grating and flooring products, the application of grit to the base material creates an abrasive surface that provides surer footing under slippery conditions. This characteristic identifies the type of material that makes up the grit.
A slip resistant material known as grit may be applied to a base material to create an abrasive surface that provides surer footing under slippery conditions. This characteristic identifies the consistency of that surface - coarse, medium or fine.
