McNichols Company Named “Best Place To Work”
Business journal research shows company is one of the best in Tampa Bay area
TAMPA, FL – June 17, 2008 – The proverb, “The grass is greener on the other side” can be applied to many aspects of life, and with an unstable economy and unemployment rates threatening to rise, the saying could prove very true in today’s society. However it’s nice to be reminded that the grass is often fairly green under your own feet.
That was the case recently when McNichols Company was named a “Best Places To Work” by the Tampa Bay Business Journal. The honor is especially rewarding because it was voted on by the company’s Tampa-based associates. McNichols Company has nearly 150 employees in the Tampa area, including its Corporate Headquarters and metals service center.
So what makes McNichols Company so great? It could be the comprehensive benefits package or the free bagels on Fridays. Perhaps it’s the covered parking and offices with a view of Tampa Bay. Or maybe it’s the corporate culture of integrity, trust, discernment, compassion and competence.
In one anonymous response a team member said, “McNichols looks to the future all the time. They value their employees and take us into consideration when making their decisions.”
The award, now in its fourth year, was the result of anonymous online surveys conducted by a third-party marketing firm. The winners were selected based on employee measurement of 40 different attributes known to drive employee engagement in the workplace. Survey categories included areas like team effectiveness, co-worker trust, management effectiveness, trust in senior management, individual goal alignment and contribution. The survey results returned an overall score of 90.42 out of a possible 100, with more than 100 McNichols Tampa associates participating in the survey process.
